#MidweekManicure: Classic White

I absolutely love white nails in the summer and since it’s been so sunny lately I felt it was time wack the classic shade out.

White nail varnish looks so fab against tanned skin and is great for getting heads turning with the bold statement look. Plus white goes with anything so you don’t have to worry about changing your nail colour to suit bright patterns or fancy prints of your outfit- giving you the perfect everyday summer nail shade. I loved the bold classic shade against my monochrome skirt to create a smart and sophisticated workwear look.

I used the NYC Expert Last Nail Polish for my manicure and it’s really great value! It was under £2 in Superdrug and can easily last up to week with no chips! I can’t stand when one of my nail’s paint starts to chip off or peel… not a great look! So this bottle is definitely a favourite of mine.

I found this picture on Instagram and absolutely loved this statement manicure!

If you want to go bolder and really get eyes turning pair the white with some glitter for special occasions and nights out! The next time I paint my nails white I am definitely going to try this look… you can never have enough sparkle!

Festival Fashion Fever

Coachella-2015-1360x680 (1)

Coachella has officially kicked off the summer festival season… I wouldn’t have known… It’s not like my instagram feed has been totally bombarded with amazing pictures from the star-studded event or anything!! But i’m not gonna lie I have been glued to my phone these recent weeks stalking the Fashion Glitterati who have dug out their kimonos and denim hot pants.

The photos and the gossip has just made me so envious of everyone at the festival and SO excited for the upcoming festivals this year. For the past three years i’ve been a loyal Bestival goer and will definitely be there again next year, but this summer I’ve got tickets for V Festival and WOMAD and I am buzzing.

I know it’s slightly early but all this Coachella hype has got me in the mood to start planning some looks and my inspiration has come from my celeb style crushes who have totally been rocking their inner bohemian style.

#MotivationalMonday: Healthy snacking

Sometimes I just get those days where I feel really hungry all day- often it can be because of a sheer lack of boredom or because I’ve done lots of exercise and not re-fueled. But trying to snack on something that isn’t really unhealthy like biscuits and crisps or foods that aren’t so boring like an apple or grapes can be very difficult!

So I’ve been experimenting with some recipes and found a couple of snack ideas to satisfy your cravings and give an energy re-boost whether it’s for your elevenses, a post-work out treat or an afternoon pick me up.

These healthy snacks are completely guilt-free and SO easy to make!

Coconut Macaroon Balls

These tasty treats are free of gluten, dairy and refined sugar, making them a perfect mid-morning or afternoon snack! Me and my housemates loved enjoying these with a cup of tea and snuggling up on the sofa on Sunday evening.

INGREDIENTS

DIRECTIONS

  1. Pre-heat the oven to 180c. Heat up the the almond milk in a saucepan and then mix the agave, honey, vanilla, salt, chia seeds and cinnamon together on a low heat.
  2. Take it off the heat and fold in the desiccated coconut and coconut flour until fully combined.
  3. Roll them into balls and place them onto a greased baking tray or dish lined with baking paper.
  4. Bake in the oven for 10 minutes then let cool. DELISH!

This recipe makes 12 macaroons which can be kept in an air-tight container. My mum and sister are coming down to stay with me tomorrow so i’m very excited to show off my new-found culinary skills and give them these healthy treats to taste!

Raspberry Cocoa Energy Bites

These are super quick and easy to make and are yummy yummy yummy if you are a bit of a sweet tooth like me and can’t get enough of chocolate.

INGREDIENTS

  • 1 tbsp of coconut oil
  • 1 tbsp of almond butter (or any other nut butter you’rd prefer)
  • 1 tbsp of cacao
  • Frozen raspberries

DIRECTIONS

  1. Melt the coconut oil
  2. Then just mix all the ingredients together and shape them into balls

It’s that simple! I topped mine with some desiccated coconut just to make it extra sweeeeet.

I hope you enjoy these guilt-free recipes. Happy snacking!

#MidweekManicure: Easter Nails

Easter is all about pretty pastel colours, Spring flowers and of course CHOCOLATE!! Oh how I can’t wait for this weekend to come after giving up chocolate for lent! I think I am going to absolutely gorge the whole of Sunday!

image

This week I decided to give my nails an Easter makeover with Spring pastel lilac shades and purple glitter to create a speckled effect on one nail of each hand (a little bit like a mini egg nail!)

IMG_1323

IMG_1327

I used Rimmel London 60 second Sweet Lavender shade and Primark’s Beauty polish which I got in a Christmas nail set. I love going the extra mile to make my nails stand out by adding some sparkle or another colour. I think the purple-tinged glitter polish looks just great against the subtle pastel shade to create these statement Easter party nails.

I hope you all have a great Easter weekend and happy 1st of April!!
