Lingerie for your next ‘Netflix and Chill’ date

It’s official. Winter is back.

Now that I’ve forced my parents to drive all of my Autumn/Winter wardrobe up to London and trek back my – yes hundreds of – summer clothes, it means there are a lot more cosy nights in on the horizon for me and bae.

I’m most definitely not a big Winter weather fan. As you can probably tell from my blog posts… I’m more of a Summer girl. However, get me on a rainy minus-whatever-degrees day and I will be VERY excited about having a cosy night in my jammies with my favourite mug of hot chocolate!

So with some inspiration from Adore me’s new Fall collection, I’ve put together some date night outfits to impress that special someone for when you’re snuggling under the duvet on those icy evenings.

Lingerie must-haves for Winter 2016

Well, matching undies is obviously a necessity. I can’t be the only the one who thinks this? Wearing a matching bra and knickers instantly puts me in a good mood.

I can guarantee wearing any pair of these Adore me underwear sets above will kick start your day with happiness – not only because they are gorgeous but because a set costs as little as £20.

Pair with…

My favourite way to compliment your undies on a night in is with a kimono gown or a comfy casual jumper plus pretty accessories too!

Plus all of these are a must on my handy ‘Night In’ checklist
Netflix and Chill checklist

  1. You’re favourite matching undies and slippers
  2. A cosy jumper, cardigan or dressing gown
  3. Something to snuggle under – maybe even a snuggie or one of those new mermaid blankets?!
  4. Hot chocolate with ALL the trimmings. I can NEVER say no to whipped cream and marshmallows… and a flake!
  5. Finally – my favourite. Naughty treats – obviously something chocolate-related!

After my upcoming boozy camping weekend I can guarantee next Sunday will consist of me and bae watching Breaking Bad with our favourite chocy bars, peanut butter cup ice cream, chocolate popcorn and probably some Tim Tams too.

Far too often, hangover Sundays exist in my weekend. Does anyone else have that awkward pause on Monday mornings when your boss asks what you got up to at the weekend? I mean… Should you tell them you got absolutely trollied on Saturday night and almost faked your own death to avoid work the next morning because the hangover was still so bad.
No. You use your Netflix binge to your advantage explaining ‘how relaxing your CHILLED weekend was finishing the House of Cards TV series and learning more interesting facts about Brendan Dassey in Making a Murderer’.

Just follow my steps above for the perfect cosy night in and you won’t even care if you haven’t been out of the house.

Day 5- I went behind the scenes of ITV News

What a great day to end my work experience on! The amazing Camilla managed to get me space on the ITN guest list to find out want went on behind the scenes of ITV News.

There were only six of us at the GoThinkBig skills day and I felt so lucky to have been offered the chance to go there. Throughout the day we met all sorts of people, from the lunch-time program editor to the man in charge of safety for workers filming or reporting in war zones across the world.

The whole day was fascinating and omg I will never be able to watch ITV News the same way again! I was actually inside the news desk studio and London news desk where the news presenter is filmed! Well here’s a huge secret that you never knew… it is actually just a green screen room and all the background, even that lovely window overlooking the Thames, well it’s completely computerised!

You know when Steve Scott was presenting the ITV news lunch-time show today, yeah? I was watching it behind the scenes and got to see how the whole show was put together for the audience to watch! I couldn’t believe he arrived only 50 seconds before he was meant to be on LIVE air! I could definitely feel the tension and I felt a bit scared for ITV when he wasn’t even on set when they were expecting him! He was still sorting out his blazer when he had 3 seconds before the live filming! It was so crazy but what shocked me the most was how he managed to be laughing a second before he went live and then suddenly presented the news absolutely PERFECTLY. I was very impressed.

When I got back to the GTB office, after meeting some amazing people, I began working on my CV for future work experience.

Dan sent me the link of our Social Networking video and my god did it make me cringe. Like I said yesterday, my voice WAS squeeky and my hair DID look like I’d been dragged through a bush backwards. Very embarrassing but I was still so excited to watch it.

It was so sad to leave GoThinkBig after such an amazing week and been offered such great opportunities. I was really happy to hear that Molly wanted me to write another feature for the site to go up next week about my experience there. My Christmas Temp 101 piece will be going on the site next week- great news!

Aren’t we all missing fashionista Millie from Made in Chelsea?!

Millie's Style Diary blog

Millie’s Style Diary blog

I am definitely feeling Millie-withdrawal symptoms. Fashionista Millie, now Mrs Manderson, never failed to bring weekly style inspiration to our television screens. My Monday fix of Made in Chelsea is definitely lacking a major style icon.

Those of you who agree, have no fear because… Millie’s ‘Style Diary’ blog brings us everything we need in a daily fashion fix up.

Millie’s fashion blog posts her style secrets in a diary of her day-to-day wardrobe choices. A gallery of images poses Millie modelling key trends of this Autumn/Winter season including: leopard print, statement necklaces, leather skirts and fur coats and cardies to keep us looking stylish whilst feeling cosy to survive in this freezing winter.

Each image is captioned with where each item of clothing is from to help us with ideas to add to our Christmas list or our fashion shopping list for our days off.
