Purchase of the day: Bargain skinny jeans

As soon as I saw online that Warehouse was having a sale, I just couldn’t resist darting to the store in my lunch break to have a quick nose around…and what do you think happened? Well I was trying on all sorts of items in their amazing end of winter season sale.

I knew I couldn’t spoil myself too hard but I thought a new pair of ripped skinny jeans can be a one off cheeky treat…I was ill at start of this week after all! I told myself I deserved it as the cashier scanned them through the till. 🙂

#FridayFavourites: Tactile textures

Whenever I’m shopping I can’t help but touch and stroke bags and fabrics that look like they have a unique texture and for this Spring/Summer season shops are full of them.

Tactile textures like leather, creamy suede, tassels and fringing have the ability transform your look from biker gal, to hippy chick right through to rocking up at a Great Gatsby party! They are a great asset to any fashionista’s wardrobe.

Tassles V Fringing

Fringe has always been one of the most steady and never changing fashion trends of almost any season, always coming up with some new interpretations and design combinations- some made with interesting textures like suede or leather on shoes tops and bags! Fringe detailing is even more powerful this season- bringing a boho/wild west style to any outfit.

tasslesfringing

Apart from the season’s hottest trend of using fringe details, flirty and playful tassels also add fab detailing to spice up and glam up even the simplest pieces. So if it’s not fringe, then it’s tassels, and you are going to see a lot of creative interpretations of the tassel trend this Spring- as you have on the Spring/Summer 2015 catwalks!

Leather

Leather is amazing- It can be worn as just a small accent to make any off-duty minimalist outfits look spectacular, or be the centerpiece fabric to create a statement-outfit.

leather buys

The tactile fabric has been spotted in the major fashion capitals during the recent fashion weeks too- so get some of it in your wardrobe for this Spring/Summer 2015! The classy trend- sold both in the traditional shades and bright hues for attracting extra attention- is a must-have for the fans of the luxury and the classy style.

My favourite faux leather picks are:

Leather pocket A Line skirt- Warehouse £65

Playful square neck shift dress- Missguided £25

Sagittarius platform shoes- Topshop £58

Compete with Kim and Rita with your own take on pink latex with this PU salmon mini dress from Missguided at £35. Who wears the look best now?

kim-kardashian-rita-ora

Forever Unique Nell faux trousers in red- Van Mildert £35

Mint velvet bluebell faux biker jacket- House of Frazer £129

Rose gold metallic leather skirt- River Island £12

Go for a bold statement outfit by mixing the leather and tassel trends together. I love this faux leather tassel waterfall jacket from Missguided at £40. Such a bargain!

Suede

Pieces with suede textures are by far one of the trendiest and catchiest looks this season. Whether the tactile fabric is on outerwear like biker jackets and tailored coats, or basic garments like mini skirts and shoes, it creates a chic statement look.

In the shops there are lots of subtle suede garments in brown shades and creamy pastel colours- perfect for this time of year, while bright red and orange tones are also on offer to create bold statement looks.

Get some suede in your wardrobe with some inspiration from my favourite finds:

suede

Orange shift dress- Topshop £60

70s’ patchwork zip mini skirt- ASOS £45

Pastel pink shearling coat- Missguided £20

Bring the tassel and suede trends together with this grey duffle bag from Warehouse at £40– perfect for holding all your key essentials and rocking a hot summers day at a festival.

Casalnuoyo ankle boots- Aldo £88

Mint suede heels- Piperlime £200

Tassel clutch- Topshop £40

On my daily commutes to work and whenever i’ve been out shopping I’ve seen so many amazing tasseled bags and been dying to know where they’re from. I think a tasseled bag is definitely an essential for your wardrobe especially as you can rock the style every season!

(cheeky) Spring Shopping Haul

So… I was a little bit naughty last week and ended up treating myself to MORE clothes.

I tried to promise myself that I wasn’t going to spend any money on clothes until pay day next Friday… but I totally caved!

My excuse was that it’s coming up for Spring so I need a few new items for the season. That’s fair, right? And two of the items were in the sale! I just fall in love with pastel colours and a good bargain.

I blame all the emails I get sent with offers, and the fact that I walk out of my office into the shopping mall of Canary Wharf! It’s just so darn tempting to have a little browse online and try on some boots in River Island on the way to getting lunch.

shopping haul

Pastel pink coat Missguided.com £20

Baby pink and black lace dress Topshop £32

Powder blue skirt Missguided.com £8

I absolutely fell in love with the dress from Topshop- I actually already have it in black and burgandy. But those colours are for winter I needed a Spring version to add to my collection! It’s just such a flattering shape and looks fab paired with strappy heels and a clutch for nights out. Those three dresses are definitely my GO TO outfits for feeling confident on date nights to posh bars or clubbing with girls.

What bargains from Missguided… if you haven’t checked out there sale yet- you most definitely should! Although try not to get too carried away with their amazing offers… at one point I had 20 items in my shopping bag and was only meant to be browsing!

I don’t regret buying these items because I cannot wait to wear them!!

#MidweekManicure: Spring Shades

I am totally obsessed with having my nails painted at all times- I just don’t feel right without any nail varnish on and being lucky enough to have a huge box of paints I like to change the colour atleast twice a week!IMG_1041

Lately I’ve definitely been sticking to lots of darker shades to match the cold winter season but I think it’s time to suit my happy mood and go for something a bit brighter and bolder!

My favourite colours for the winter have been matte grey, dark ruby red (wacked this out for valentines weekend) and sparkly silver- you always have to have one favourite glittery nail varnish for the Christmas and New Year party season!

IMG_0866

But I do think it’s about time winter’s muted tones were pushed to one side for the sorbet and candy colours to be worn.

I know its not quite spring yet but all this lovely sunshine is making me too excited 1) because spring means my birthday is coming and 2) because it’s definitely the warmest and sunniest time of the year in England.

My favourite colours for this upcoming spring season have got to be the pretty pastel shades. Candy colours for Spring are never going to go out of trend- they look too gorgeous in the sun especially on tanned hands.

Here my top 5 buys:

nails blog topshop

Topshop Nails in Blue Rinse and Nails in Prestige £5

Barry-M-Nail-Varnish

Barry M Speedy Quick Dry £3.99

dior nails

Dior extreme wear limited edition Porcelaine shade £15.30

Avon-Nail-Varnish

Avon Magic Effects Collection £6

Nails-Inc-nail-varnish

Nails Inc Nailkale £15

I absolutely love this Barry M mint green- totally brighten up my week!

So whether it’s chalky lavender, powder blue or candy pink, there are plenty of gorgeous shades you’ll have your eye on this Spring.
